[Review] Magic Snow Cushion 2.0 New Black Cushion

I'm sure most of you out there heard of April Skin Magic Snow Cushion but if you haven't, you will now! The hype has been going around for quite awhile now due to it's magical coverage! So, today I will be doing a review on the latest version of the Cushion Compact!

It was my birthday few days ago and my mom heard that I've always wanted to try this cushion so she decided to get it for me. XD

Magic Snow Cushion 2.0 New Black Cushion

There's 3 types of cushion from April Skin and it depends on which one you personally prefer.

The cushion perfect coverage cushion is infused with 45% water-based which provides a moisturizing coverage. It provides a flawless and velvet complexion.

It comes in 3 different shades and I got it in no. 22 which is Pink Beige which appears to be more pinkish than I thought. But it works on my skin so it's fine.

It comes with a Mochi cushion that helps to retain most of the foundation when it's pressed on.

The cushion has SPF 50+/PA+++ along with blueberry extract, mineral water and aloe vera leaf extract.

Scent

It smells sweet. I think it is due to the blueberry extract. It's fairly nice and it is not over powering.

Coverage

To be honest, the coverage of this cushion is just average. With just one layer, you may not be able to cover scars or redness. You have to apply a second layer to have a better coverage. If you have a very oily skin, layering on foundation is not a great idea as it cakes up. Same goes to dry skin as it will look flaky. But it is definitely better than the 1st generation.

Price

I purchased it for RM100.70 ( BND $33.57) incl GST at KIODA Parkson. It is a little bit pricey as it is only 15g without refill.

Moisture

It is very moisturizing when applied onto my skin. I don't feel it tugging on my skin as I apply but my skin seems to be a little dry when I tried it on so it's a little flaky but that'll be gone after a little exfoliation.

Stickiness

It is not sticky at all. Even after applying 2 layers it is not sticky. It gives off a matte finish.

Changing refills

It is very easy to change it's refill. Open up the case and give the bottom a slight press and it comes right off.

*Do take note that the refill for the older version is not compatible with the mew Magic Snow Cushion 2.0

Claims

1. Flawless Coverage
- Yes, it does gives a very natural finish with great coverage but 2 layers have to be applied to achieve the flawless look if you want to cover dark pigmentation and scars.

2. Moisturizing texture
- Yes, it is very moisturizing. It does not dry up your skin.

3. Smooth application
- Yes, it does not tug on my skin at all. Gently pat with the cushion instead of rubbing on it.

4. It is not sticky!
- Yes, it is not sticky as it dries up pretty fast.

PROS

1. It smells great.
2. Does what it claims.
3. Covers up my pores.
4. It last quite a while and it is very moisturizing.
5. Easy to carry in your purse.
6. Love the new packaging. Air tight.
7. Suitable for people who are always rushing. Just give it a few pats and you're done.

CONS

1. I'm pretty concern with the hygiene because of the cushion puff. I think keeping the puff clean is very important to prevent bacteria transfer.
2. It is only 15g which only last up to 2 months with daily usage.

I think that's pretty much it with the CONS. I couldn't find much disadvantage of this cushion. I would like to try more cushion foundation in the future.

Ratings

Price - 4/5 It is affordable during SALES.
Hygiene - 2/5 I personally do not like the idea of patting my face and transferring dust from my face back to the cushion.
Packaging - 4/5 Simple sleek black compact
Claims - 4.5/5 Does what it claims!

Will I repurchase this?
- Yes I will repurchase this cushion but in no.23 as I think no.22 is a little too pink. I would purchase the white and pink version too. To check out the differences.

Where to purchase?

You can purchase it through YESSTYLE if you are from other country.

How to figure out your skin type?

What's up everybody! It's been a while since I've updated. Let's get on with today's topic shall we?

Many people are wondering what type of skin category do they belong to! It might be dry, oily, normal, sensitive and combination depending on personal hormones. It may change depending on the diet, environment or our hormones.

There are a few factors that may affect the way we look.

1. Age factor
- As we grow older, the replacement process of our cells tends to slow down. This would create lower secretion of natural oil from the sebaceous glands. Due to this, skin may look grey-ish and feel dry.

2. Genetics

3. Diet
- Increasing intake of water, vegetables, fibers, fruits, Vitamin C and E can improve the condition of your skin. Avoid fried food, alcohol and cigarettes.

4. Skin Care
- Skin care is very important. Cleansing, toning and moisturizing creates a healthier skin.

5. Sleep
- Sleeping the right amount of hours and at the right time helps to improve skin. Reduce stress level if possible!

6. External Force
- Long hours in an air-conditioned room can dry up our skin.

SKIN TYPES

1. Oily Skin

- Yes! OILY SKIN! The amount of oil that our sebaceous glands pumps out is enough to fry an egg!! LOL Just Kidding!

Oily skin causes enlarged pores and tend to have more blackhead and crops of blemishes. However on the bright side, oily skin people tend to stay wrinkle-free longer.

How do I know if I have oily skin?
- You have sudden breakouts and blackheads you can't seem to get rid of no matter what you do!
- You have larger pores.
- Your face is shiny and feels oily when touched.

All the above matches you? Congratulations, you belong to the oily skin category!

What types of products should I use?
- Choose a water based cleanser.
- Use a toner that contains small amount of alcohol to control oily skin.
- Use a gel type moisturizer. Make sure to apply only a small amount.
- Exfoliate at least twice a week.

* Be gentle with your skin care and never use hot water when cleansing.

2. Dry Skin

- Does it feel like a Sahara Desert? XD Dry skin is super annoying cause you constantly feel tight and look flaky. Dry skin is caused by under-active oil glands and it may cause skin to look dull.

How do I know if I have dry skin?
-  Your skin feels rough and flaky.
- You do not have enlarged pores and very less blackheads.
- You seldom have oily skin. You tend to feel tightness and irritation.

What types of product should I use?
- You may use a water-based or cream type cleanser.
- Use a very mild alcohol-free toner.
- Rich type cream moisturizer to keep your skin hydrated.
- Exfoliate once every few weeks.

* Use a hydrating mask once a week.

3. Combination skin
- 2 in 1!! It's either oily or dry! *Make up your mind skin!!* I personally am a combination skin type and it's frustrating. But it's pretty common among the population. Some area are flaky/dry and the T-zone area got claimed by the oil gang! Super shiny nose and forehead!

How do I know if I have Combination skin?
- Some dry patches and some oily patches.
- Your skin tend to change according to season or environment.

What types of product should I use?
- Water-based cleanser is fine.
- Use a non-alcohol/mild toner.
- Use a gel type moisturizer that is the lightest.
- Exfoliate your skin once to twice a week. Focus on the T-zone (forehead, nose and chin)

4. Sensitive skin
Yes! I personally belong to the sensitive category too! T_T
Our skin reacts to almost everything! You have to be extra cautious on choosing your products if you have sensitive skin.

How do I know if I have Sensitive skin?
- Rashes after using a certain product.
- Red patches and irritation.
- Skin starts to peel and feels dry.

What types of product should I use?
- Make sure to choose your product carefully. Use a hypo-allergenic cleanser.
- You may not certainly need a specific type of toner, mineral water in a spray bottle will do.
- Use the lightest type of gel moisturizer. Be sure it's a fragrance free moisturizer.
- You may choose a light exfoliation such as peel off scrub once a month. Be sure not not irritate the skin with rough particles in the exfoliation.

* Careful when choosing products. Be sure to choose alcohol free and fragrance free products. Test out products before using it!

5. Normal Skin
Congratulations and everyone hates you cause you happen to have the best skin type. Having normal skin type means your skin is basically perfect! It's the perfect mixture of oil, acid mantle and moisture. You are free from blemishes. Be glad you have it!

How do I know if I have Normal skin type?
- First of all, you do not breakout all the time.
- Your face is not super oily or super dry.
- Do not have enlarges pores or flaky skin.
- Perfect smooth texture.

What types of product should I use?
- You lucky! You get to use whatever type of cleanser that favors you. Water based cleanser is fine too~
- Light toner and lightest gel moisturizer only.
- Once a week exfoliate and use a mask pack to maintain your skin!

~

There you have it! Have you figure out what type of skin category you belong to? Make sure to choose the correct products according to your skin type. You wouldn't want to add more oily/heavy products to your already oily skin OR putting products that consist alcohol to your dry skin making it worst~

[Review] Lindsay Rubber Mask - Tea Tree

Hello everybody! I'm back again with another review and this time it's the Lindsay Modeling Rubber Mask. It is widely known among the Korean skincare routine and it's been out in the market for a while now. I've been wanting to post a review on the modeling mask but I wanted to test it out for myself before doing a review.

So here I am putting up a review after testing it out for a few months. The one I've tried are as below:

2 x Tea Tree
2 x Lavender
1 x Calendula
1 x Vitamin C

I will be doing a review on the Tea Tree version of the Lindsay Modeling Mask.

Cool (Tea-Tree) Modeling Mask

There are 8 different types of modeling mask by Lindsay available depending on your skin condition.

(Photo cr:shopcoupons.my)

Collagen - Moisturizes and plumps up skin (All skin type)
Charcoal - Lifts up oil and dirts (Oily skin)
Calendula - Helps to nourish and moisturize skin (Acne prone skin)
Lavender - Anti-oxidant to cleanse and combats environmental pollutants (All skin type)
Cool (Tea-Tree) - Aids in healing breakouts (Acne prone skin)
Pearl - Restores skin elasticity (All skin type)
Vitamin - Helps to renew, brighten and soothe irritated skin (All skin type)
Gold - Soothe inflammation (All skin type/Acne skin)

It comes in a plastic container at 30g worth of modeling mask powder for one time use only. There is a plastic lid protecting the cover.

Before opening the cover, make sure to lightly tap the sides of the container so the powder won't spill all over. It comes with a spatula inside the container for you to stir and apply. However I personally don't like the spatula provided because it is too short so I prefer to use my annie's way/ePure's spatula instead.

Spatula provided by Lindsay's Modeling Mask

I prefer using this spatula which is available when you purchase ePure or Annie's Way jelly mask

Note: When using this product, it may take a while to get use to mixing it. It may turn out too watery or too dry. It's all about trial and errors.

How to Use:

Step 1
On the container itself, there is a line as seen above. The purpose of the line is to guide you on how much water is needed.

Step 2
I push the powder one side so I can pour the water until the line indicator on the container.

Step 3
Please use warm water for this mask. If the water is too hot, it kills off the purpose of the mask but if it's too cold, the mask solidifies very fast creating lumps which makes it hard to apply.

Step 4
Pour in the water until the line then start to stir it. This steps tell you how much more water is needed. As you start stirring, it will slowly form a paste and gradually add in more water if needed.

Step 5
After stirring and adding water as needed, it will form a smooth paste as seen in the picture above. It is very important to get a smooth yet thick consistency as seen above. If it is too dry, it dries up very fast but if it is too watery, it will be hard to apply as it will start to drip.

Step 6
Apply it onto your face with the spatula. Make sure to apply it in thick layers.

Make sure to apply it thicker on the side so it is easier to remove the mask.

Note* From adding water till applying it all over your face should take around 1-2 minutes only. Otherwise the mask would dry up before you even get to apply it on your face.

It is super hard to explain how or where to apply all the mask so here is a picture of where I apply the mask. IT IS PERFECT TO APPLY IT AND SCARE PEOPLE IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT! XD
* Yes it is my nail polish collection at the back. Check it out HERE

Applying it all over including your lips as it helps to moisturizes your lips too. Usually if there is someone to apply it for you, you may apply it on top of your eyes too. Use a damp cotton on top of your eyes and apply the mask all over. If you are applying it yourself, you do not need to apply it on your eyes.

Step 7
Remove the mask after 20 minutes. The reason to apply it thicker on the ends is so that you are able to remove the mask easily.

Step 8
Wash off residue with warm water and follow up with your moisturizer and you're done.

There are bits and pieces of black things in there. Don't worry, it is nothing scary as it is bits of tea-tree.

TIPS

1. Prep your skin before using the modeling mask. Prep with essence and serum for better effect.

2. Work fast as the modeling mask dries pretty fast.

3. You can scoop out half the powder if you are afraid of adding too much water making it too watery.

PROS

1. Moisturizes your skin instantly.
2. Does what it claims it does.
3. Minimizes pores
4. Improves complexion and hydration to tired skin. Tea-tree also calms sensitive skin that are easily irritated.
5. It does not evaporates unlike sheet mask. Although the outer layer is fully dry the inside of the mask stays wet.
6. It has a cooling effect due to the tea-tree

CONS

1. It takes a while to get use to mixing it.
2. First time users may not like the smell but overtime, you will get use to the smell.
3. The spatula provided is too short/small
4. One time use only at RM12.90 (BND$ 4.30) a little pricey for some.
5. Not suitable for people who are lazy or too tired for all the manual labour. LOL

RATINGS
Price - 4/5 Personally it is affordable as it really benefits my skin and does what it claims.
Hygiene -5/5 It is a one time use so just throw away the container once used. No contamination.
Quality - 4/5 Better than most sheet mask.

Would definitely purchase again.

Where to purchase it?
1. Ebay - HERE

Beauty tools from Daiso

Hello again everybody! Gosh it's been a long time since my last post! Whatever it is, I'm back and today I would like to show you some beauty tools you can get if you happen to be shopping in Daiso. I'm sure they have it in all Daiso outlets.

I went to Daiso a few days ago and I got these 3 items that helps with your skin care routine.

- Silicone Moisturizing Mask for face
- Silicone Moisturizing Mask for heels
- Cotton Gloves

First item is the Silicone Moisturizing Mask for face. I'm a huge fan of Gina Darling although she is not a beauty guru, I still like watching her. She released her daily facial routine and above her mask she was wearing this silicone mask. Since I'm always using mask so I decided to get one too.

Check out her video here - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YZkMuYYaZFQ Subscribe to her channel!

The features of the silicone mask includes:
- Wrapping effect - work over sheet mask, it prevents the mask's serum from evaporating under air conditioning.
- With ear loops to prevent the sheet mask from slipping off when you move.
- Used in the bath without a sheet mask, it works as a face-steaming mask.
- Made of silicone material that does not have the unpleasant odor peculiar to rubber.
- Can be washed and reuse.

There are 2 ways you can use the silicone mask which is above a sheet mask or just the silicone mask alone during shower.

- Using over sheet mask.

- Using it alone in shower.

You can also adjust the size of the ear loops to fit it perfectly according to your personal preference.

- Cut along the line of the mask.

- There are two lines, cut accordingly and make sure it is not too lose so it fits perfectly without the mask falling off.

Price: RM$5.30 (incl. GST) - BND$1.79 (rate 2.96)
Hygiene: 5/5 as it can be washed and reuse.
Quality: 4/5 as it's silicone, I don't think it would last too long.

However, I would definitely repurchase it if it breaks.

Secondly, along with the silicone mask for face, I saw there there was a silicone mask for the heels too. So I decided to get it.

It has the same material as the silicone mask for face above except this is used on the heels. Dry and cracked heels is super annoying!

Features of this mask includes:
- Heels can easily become dry and cracked, but the mask will wrap them tightly to keep the moisture in.
- Simply putting these on after a bath moisturizes your heels.
- Applying cream under the mask will be even more effective.
- Silicone material does not emit any odor, unlike rubber.
- Can be washed and reuse.
- Free size.

I would use this after shower, immediately applying moisturizer and wearing it over. Its recommended usage time is around 15 minutes.

Lastly, the third item is Night Care 100% Cotton Gloves. For those who follow my blog knows that I love wearing nail polishes. Because of the nail polishes and removers, it usually dries out my fingernails and cuticles so hand care is very important for a healthy looking cuticle. (I'll be posting a different post on that)

100% Cotton Night Care Gloves.

Features of this gloves includes:
- For soft, smooth skin, apply hand cream before going to bed.
- Wearing the gloves heightens moisturizing actions.

Instead of the cream or treatment getting all over your bed sheets, phone or everything that you touch, this cotton gloves helps to prevent that. It actually helps the cream to stay on your hands and moisturizes them.

You can also use these gloves while doing hand mask treatment. Wearing them over the mask helps to lock in moisture increasing the effects of the mask.

Price: RM$5.30 (incl. GST) - BND$1.79 (rate 2.96)
Hygiene: 5/5 as it can be washed and reuse.
Quality: 3/4 as some people may be allergic to the cotton material depending on the user's personal condition.

I would definitely repurchase it again.

January - March 2016 Favorites!

It's the time of the year! 1st beauty quarter has finally come to an end! IT'S 1st QUARTER FAVORITES!!! There are a few thing that I've fallen in love with and I can't survive without them! Let's go!

Yep! That's right, not only I love beauty products, I love candles and Ipad games too! What I have here is Yankee Candle, Modeling Mask, ePure Jelly Mask, Foot Mask, Hair Treatment and Happy Mall Story.

Aloe Water

I love love love love loveeeee candles!! I love scented candles especially the ones from Yankee partially it's cause of the jar too. I recently purchased another one and it's the Red Raspberry and I love it!

As you can see, this one here is halfway gone as I've been lighting it almost everyday. With the current hazy situation here, the candle gets rid of the smell quickly. I can't really describe the smell of Aloe water but it has the fruity-fresh scent. It's works better than air fresher. Pretty worth the investment.

Cost - $20+ - $40+

 Lindsay Modeling Mask.

Finally Hermo is selling it! I've been hearing great things about Korea's Rubber mask so I decided to get some. If you don't know what Hermo is, check out my post on Hermo HERE

I love this mask so much! It's cooling and super moisturizing but it is super hard to get it at the right consistency. It comes in powder form so you gotta mix it with water to get a paste.

I'll be doing a separate review on this mask soon. Be sure to check it out!

ePure Jelly Mask

I've posted on snapchat numerous times on how much I love jelly mask! Previously I posted a review on Annie's Way Jelly mask HERE and this time it's the ePure Jelly Mask. It brightens up your skin like magic and minimizes your pores just like that! You can get it at Hermo too! Check it out and lemme know what you think!

Obsidian Silk Treatment

As you all know, I'm always coloring my hair and not once I have natural hair colour since I ended Secondary 5. Ever since I got out of school, I've been dying my hair since then and it's pretty damaged. For the new year I bleached and dyed my hair and now it's super dried up. Recently my hair stylist introduced me this product cause I'm always too busy to visit her for hair treatment. LOL.

I love it so much! Not only it make my hair super soft, it smells great too! Totally recommend it to those who has damaged and weak hair!

Happy Mall Story

Lastly! No this is not a beauty product. This game is pretty much keeping me busy the entire week! I'm addicted to it! LOL. It's pretty fun collecting coins, building floors, bringing in new shop and etc! Be sure to check it out, it's available in the App Store for Apple Users~

-

I guess that's it for my 1st quarter favorite list! Not much going on, but be sure to check out the next quarter favorites which will I'll be doing on the end of July. Check back for more updates soon! Follow me at my personal blog for updates or follow me at snapchat, etc. Click HERE to find out ways to contact me! <3

Nail Polish Collections

Nail Polish Collections

Hello everybody!! It's been a while since I've update this site. I do update my personal blog if you follow me HERE . If yall follow me at Snapchat or Instagram @ KimmmyLoo you'll know that I love nail polishes the most and have tons of them! So with that, I decided to customize a rack for it and it's finally done! I've been dying to get my hands on it and it's finally ready and up on my wall.

I personally love collecting nail polishes and painting my nails whenever I'm free. I don't get it from a single brand only but I get it from any brand that I come across. It's pretty much a side hobby I enjoy whenever I'm bored. Maybe it will turn out to be a career in the future? Who knows?

What I have here is from Etude House, Nature Republic, The Face Shop, Skin food, Holika Holika, SASA and a few random ones as gifts from others.

I have so many bottle of polishes, sometimes i lost track of what colour I have or forgot how it looks like on my nails so I constantly have to try it on to see how the colour looks like on my nail. Getting annoyed with it, I decided to get some false nail sets from Ebay for about USD $1.70. I have the colour swatches on it to make my life easier rather than wasting cotton and nail polish remover.

So far my favourite one is from Nature Republic and Face Shop. The way the brush length and shape is, it is pretty easy to apply. It has a pretty thick consistency too so 1 layer is enough usually.

Separately I have a box to put all my other nail stuffs. I didn't want everything to lie around my table or get tons of containers stacking it one by one to put everything in so I was complaining to my mom about it so she got me this tool box kit and I love it. I keep my stamping kit, dotting tools, nail files, clippers, nail swatches, base coat, top coat, nail thinner and a few other things in there so everything is at reach when I need it.

-

That's all from my nail polish collections. Stay tune for more updates~
