[Review] Elizavecca Milky Piggy Carbonated Bubble Clay Mask

As seen on my previous post, I finally have an update for all you pretty readers. Today I'll be doing a review on the Elizavecca Milky Piggy Carbonated Bubble Clay Mask! I know this mask have been in the market for a while now and I'm only doing the review now but I do have a reason! LOL! My skin wasn't in the greatest condition when this mask was released. Now that my skin is in a better condition, I'll be trying it out!

Do take note that this product is NON HALAL!

Elizavecca Carbonated Bubble Clay Mask. With the hype going on around the beauty industry, let's see if its really that great of a product.

Packaging
- It comes in a small grey container.
- 100 ml worth of product.
- I quite like the simple packaging and the piggy with the mask on. LOL!
- The expiry date and manufactured date can be found on the bottom of the container.

Inside
- It has a small spatula and a tight plastic lid over the mask.

Texture before applying.
- It's a greyish slimy cream type mask.
- It's like jello.
- It's so fun to look at! XD

Beneficial ingredient:

As the product page stated, this mask contains Green Tea extract, Pomegranate extract, Charcoal Powder, Collagen, Glycerin.

Here are the full ingredients:

Purified Water, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, White Clay, Acrylate Copolymer, Disodium Cocoamphodiacetate, Methyl Perfluorobutyl Ether, Sodium Lauryl Sulfate, Lauramide DEA, TEA-Cocoyl Glutamate, Green Tea Extracts, Glycerine, Dipropylene Glycol, Bentonite, Collagen, Charcoal Powder, Phenoxyethanol, Methylparaben, Flavouring Agents, Carbonated Water, Xanthan Gum, Disodium EDTA, Allantoin, Butylene Glycol, Lavender Extracts, Monarda Didyma Leaf Extracts, Peppermint Leaf Extracts, Freesia Leaf Extracts, Chamomile Flower Extracts, Rosemary Leaf Extracts

Charcoal Powder
It pulls out dirt and oil from pores.

Green Tea Extract
Soothes sensitive skin

Glycerin
Anti Ageing treatments
Used in acne treatments
Helps to retain skin moisture

What the product claims to do:

- The carbonated bubble unclog pores and removes dead skin.
- The carbonated bubble helps to stimulate the skin to bring out a healthy glow.
- Removes black head.

How to use:

Step 1.

- Pick up mask with the spatula provided.

Step 2.

- Apply it all over face. Work fast. Trust me, if you work slowly the foam will start forming before you even finish covering your face.
- Spread it evenly.
- Wait and see the magic happen.

Within 20 seconds, small fine bubble will start forming. It's so interesting watching the bubbles form.

1 minute after application. As you can see the bubbles started forming, you can hear the bubbling fizzy happening around your skin.

You can feel the tingling sensation around your whole face as the bubble keeps growing.

Step 3.

After 5 - 10 minutes, run fingers under warm water and rub onto skin. Massage for a minute and wash your face as you would with a cleanser.

Texture after applying

It's not what I expected. I initially thought that the bubbles would be fine and soft but it's actually sticky. It turns into a soapy feel once massaged with warm water.

Scent

I'm not quite sure what the smell is but it smells like a sweet fruity smell. Not too bad.

Personal opinion

Once applied, you can feel a tingly sensation just like drinking sprite or coke. I have a very sensitive skin so I was hesitating whether to try on this product or not. However, thank god my skin did not react badly to the mask. I did not get any redness or itch on my face. It has the same feeling as dipping your face into carbonated water.

However! It is a hassle washing it off. It is sooo hard to wash the mask off. It's slippery and foamy, I had to use cotton wipes to remove the clay off my skin. So I think using it before shower will be a better idea.

It is worth the hype?

To be honest, it's worth playing around with this mask because it's so much fun watching the mask grow 5x its original size but in terms of helping the skin, I don't think so.

Does it do what it claims?

To be honest, I don't think the mask does what it claims to do. Removes black head? Neh, I don't think so. Gives a healthy glow? Hmmm, not really. Removes dead skin and dirt? Maybe? Not that sure, maybe I have to use it more often to see it's effect.

PROS
- Smells great
- Decent amount of product for its price
- Fun to play with.

CONS
- Might not be suitable for dry skin or very sensitive skin.
- Not much effect on skin.
- Overrated product to be honest.

Price

I bought it for RM40 during sales in Hermo.

Where to purchase?

Hermo - HERE
Amazon - HERE
YESSTYLE - HERE

Ratings

Price - 4/5
Pretty worth it during sales

Size - 4/5
I guess it's a decent amount at 100ml

Hygiene - 2/5
I don't really like things in a jar. I prefer it to be in a tube but I guess for this product it works better being in a tub.

Packaging - 3.5/5
I like the simple package but not the colour.

Claims - 2/5
Not really feeling it for this clay mask.

Will I repurchase this product?

I don't think I will be repurchasing this product. It's worth the hype though, watching the bubble form and the tingling sensation is pretty cool. However, coming down to the benefits, I don't think it I like it that much but I do prefer the Innisfree Super Volcanic Clay Mask.

Originality Check

On the box, you will get a seal with a QR Code and numbers to check for originality. Gently scrape the silver part to reveal 16 numbers to check.

*Beware of imitation Elizavecca products.

That's it for my first impression/review for my first product from Elizavecca. The above review is not sponsored by anybody and it is all my personal opinion on the Elizavecca Carbonated Clay mask.

February 2017 Haul~

Helloo beautiful readers, it's been a while since I posted an update~

So it's been a while since I purchased any skin care item except for mask. I'm running low on cleanser and toner so I decided to go online shopping. Here are the few things that I bought. I'll be doing separate reviews on the products, price and where to get it in the next post.

List:
- Cosrx Low PH Good Morning Gel Cleanser (Day)
- Laneige Deep Clearing Foam Cleanser (Night)
- Nature Republic Super Aqua Max Watery Toner
- Missha Time Revolution Night Repair Science Activator Borabit Ampoule
- Missha Time Revolution The First Treatment Essence (Intensive Moist)
- CNP Laboratory Invisible Peeling Booster
- Elizavecca Milky Piggy Carbonated Bubble Clay Mask

*Note: I have combination and sensitive skin. It usually depends on my condition, sometimes it's dry!

I've been using a few products for quite sometime and they're my 2nd or 3rd purchase this round.

1. COSRX Low pH Good Morning Gel Cleanser.

So previously as yall know, I've been using the Neogen Green Tea Bubble cleanser and I stated it as my no.7th favourite from the previous post HERE. But the after finishing the whole bottle, I personally think it's not really doing a good job and it finishes in the speed of lightning. -.-"

Maybe due to the weather change, my skin has been pretty sensitive ranging from dry to oily. So after browsing around, I found this gel cleanser from COSRX. It has pretty great reviews on it so  I'll be doing a review on it soon. XD

2. Laneige Pore Deep Clearing Foam.

This is the 2nd cleanser I bought since the COSRX Gel cleanser is super mild and low in pH, I figure it wont be enough for my double cleansing at night. Sometimes I do wear foundation and sunscreen so I might need a stronger cleanser at night. So yeah, I'll be trying it out.

3. Nature Republic Super Aqua Max Watery Toner.

My third item is this watery toner from Nature Republic and I absolute love it. It was listed as my top 3 fav item for the year 2016 and this is my 2nd time purchasing this toner.

4. Missha Time Revolution Night Repair Science Activator Borabit Ampoule.

I can't believe how long the name for this ampoule is! It's also known as the Missha Longer name ampoule. I was given a free sample size ampoule before this and I absolutely love it so I decided to get a full size 50ml. I'll be doing a separate review on how much I love this thing! LOL!

5. Missha Time Revolution The First Treatment Essence. [Intensive Moist]

This is also my 2nd time purchasing full size essence from Missha. It's my absolute Holy Grail! I don't think I can survive without including this into my daily night skin care routine. I first purchased the travel size essence, loved it and bought a full size 2nd Generation as seen in my previous post.

It made it's way to my top no.1 favourite item for the year 2016. For the 2nd Generation it is only listed as [Intensive] but for the 3rd Generation is it now listed as [Intensive Moist] I have yet to try it out so I'm not sure what are the differences. After trying it out, I'll be doing a separate review.

6. CNP Laboratory Invisible Peeling Booster.

I was looking around and accidentally stumble upon this item. It's from CNP Laboratory and I have never use any of their product. So it looks interesting so I did some research and saw tons of great reviews. After reading reviews to reviews, I decided to purchase it. If it doesn't work on my skin, I'll pass it on to my mum.

I'll be trying it out then post up a review next month. Let's hope it lives up to its great reviews.

7. Elizavecca Milky Piggy Carbonated Bubble Clay Mask.

I know this product has been in the market for quite sometime but I've yet to try it out. There was a hype on this product by many youtubers and bloggers so I'll be trying it out and see if it's really that great.

Let's hope my sensitive skin doesn't react badly to this product.

*

I guess that's it for this post. I will be putting up reviews in the next post. Stay tune for more!

See yall soon! <3

[Review] Magic Snow Cushion 2.0 New Black Cushion

I'm sure most of you out there heard of April Skin Magic Snow Cushion but if you haven't, you will now! The hype has been going around for quite awhile now due to it's magical coverage! So, today I will be doing a review on the latest version of the Cushion Compact!

It was my birthday few days ago and my mom heard that I've always wanted to try this cushion so she decided to get it for me. XD

Magic Snow Cushion 2.0 New Black Cushion

There's 3 types of cushion from April Skin and it depends on which one you personally prefer.

The cushion perfect coverage cushion is infused with 45% water-based which provides a moisturizing coverage. It provides a flawless and velvet complexion.

It comes in 3 different shades and I got it in no. 22 which is Pink Beige which appears to be more pinkish than I thought. But it works on my skin so it's fine.

It comes with a Mochi cushion that helps to retain most of the foundation when it's pressed on.

The cushion has SPF 50+/PA+++ along with blueberry extract, mineral water and aloe vera leaf extract.

Scent

It smells sweet. I think it is due to the blueberry extract. It's fairly nice and it is not over powering.

Coverage

To be honest, the coverage of this cushion is just average. With just one layer, you may not be able to cover scars or redness. You have to apply a second layer to have a better coverage. If you have a very oily skin, layering on foundation is not a great idea as it cakes up. Same goes to dry skin as it will look flaky. But it is definitely better than the 1st generation.

Price

I purchased it for RM100.70 ( BND $33.57) incl GST at KIODA Parkson. It is a little bit pricey as it is only 15g without refill.

Moisture

It is very moisturizing when applied onto my skin. I don't feel it tugging on my skin as I apply but my skin seems to be a little dry when I tried it on so it's a little flaky but that'll be gone after a little exfoliation.

Stickiness

It is not sticky at all. Even after applying 2 layers it is not sticky. It gives off a matte finish.

Changing refills

It is very easy to change it's refill. Open up the case and give the bottom a slight press and it comes right off.

*Do take note that the refill for the older version is not compatible with the mew Magic Snow Cushion 2.0

Claims

1. Flawless Coverage
- Yes, it does gives a very natural finish with great coverage but 2 layers have to be applied to achieve the flawless look if you want to cover dark pigmentation and scars.

2. Moisturizing texture
- Yes, it is very moisturizing. It does not dry up your skin.

3. Smooth application
- Yes, it does not tug on my skin at all. Gently pat with the cushion instead of rubbing on it.

4. It is not sticky!
- Yes, it is not sticky as it dries up pretty fast.

PROS

1. It smells great.
2. Does what it claims.
3. Covers up my pores.
4. It last quite a while and it is very moisturizing.
5. Easy to carry in your purse.
6. Love the new packaging. Air tight.
7. Suitable for people who are always rushing. Just give it a few pats and you're done.

CONS

1. I'm pretty concern with the hygiene because of the cushion puff. I think keeping the puff clean is very important to prevent bacteria transfer.
2. It is only 15g which only last up to 2 months with daily usage.

I think that's pretty much it with the CONS. I couldn't find much disadvantage of this cushion. I would like to try more cushion foundation in the future.

Ratings

Price - 4/5 It is affordable during SALES.
Hygiene - 2/5 I personally do not like the idea of patting my face and transferring dust from my face back to the cushion.
Packaging - 4/5 Simple sleek black compact
Claims - 4.5/5 Does what it claims!

Will I repurchase this?
- Yes I will repurchase this cushion but in no.23 as I think no.22 is a little too pink. I would purchase the white and pink version too. To check out the differences.

Where to purchase?

You can purchase it through YESSTYLE if you are from other country.

How to figure out your skin type?

What's up everybody! It's been a while since I've updated. Let's get on with today's topic shall we?

Many people are wondering what type of skin category do they belong to! It might be dry, oily, normal, sensitive and combination depending on personal hormones. It may change depending on the diet, environment or our hormones.

There are a few factors that may affect the way we look.

1. Age factor
- As we grow older, the replacement process of our cells tends to slow down. This would create lower secretion of natural oil from the sebaceous glands. Due to this, skin may look grey-ish and feel dry.

2. Genetics

3. Diet
- Increasing intake of water, vegetables, fibers, fruits, Vitamin C and E can improve the condition of your skin. Avoid fried food, alcohol and cigarettes.

4. Skin Care
- Skin care is very important. Cleansing, toning and moisturizing creates a healthier skin.

5. Sleep
- Sleeping the right amount of hours and at the right time helps to improve skin. Reduce stress level if possible!

6. External Force
- Long hours in an air-conditioned room can dry up our skin.

SKIN TYPES

1. Oily Skin

- Yes! OILY SKIN! The amount of oil that our sebaceous glands pumps out is enough to fry an egg!! LOL Just Kidding!

Oily skin causes enlarged pores and tend to have more blackhead and crops of blemishes. However on the bright side, oily skin people tend to stay wrinkle-free longer.

How do I know if I have oily skin?
- You have sudden breakouts and blackheads you can't seem to get rid of no matter what you do!
- You have larger pores.
- Your face is shiny and feels oily when touched.

All the above matches you? Congratulations, you belong to the oily skin category!

What types of products should I use?
- Choose a water based cleanser.
- Use a toner that contains small amount of alcohol to control oily skin.
- Use a gel type moisturizer. Make sure to apply only a small amount.
- Exfoliate at least twice a week.

* Be gentle with your skin care and never use hot water when cleansing.

2. Dry Skin

- Does it feel like a Sahara Desert? XD Dry skin is super annoying cause you constantly feel tight and look flaky. Dry skin is caused by under-active oil glands and it may cause skin to look dull.

How do I know if I have dry skin?
-  Your skin feels rough and flaky.
- You do not have enlarged pores and very less blackheads.
- You seldom have oily skin. You tend to feel tightness and irritation.

What types of product should I use?
- You may use a water-based or cream type cleanser.
- Use a very mild alcohol-free toner.
- Rich type cream moisturizer to keep your skin hydrated.
- Exfoliate once every few weeks.

* Use a hydrating mask once a week.

3. Combination skin
- 2 in 1!! It's either oily or dry! *Make up your mind skin!!* I personally am a combination skin type and it's frustrating. But it's pretty common among the population. Some area are flaky/dry and the T-zone area got claimed by the oil gang! Super shiny nose and forehead!

How do I know if I have Combination skin?
- Some dry patches and some oily patches.
- Your skin tend to change according to season or environment.

What types of product should I use?
- Water-based cleanser is fine.
- Use a non-alcohol/mild toner.
- Use a gel type moisturizer that is the lightest.
- Exfoliate your skin once to twice a week. Focus on the T-zone (forehead, nose and chin)

4. Sensitive skin
Yes! I personally belong to the sensitive category too! T_T
Our skin reacts to almost everything! You have to be extra cautious on choosing your products if you have sensitive skin.

How do I know if I have Sensitive skin?
- Rashes after using a certain product.
- Red patches and irritation.
- Skin starts to peel and feels dry.

What types of product should I use?
- Make sure to choose your product carefully. Use a hypo-allergenic cleanser.
- You may not certainly need a specific type of toner, mineral water in a spray bottle will do.
- Use the lightest type of gel moisturizer. Be sure it's a fragrance free moisturizer.
- You may choose a light exfoliation such as peel off scrub once a month. Be sure not not irritate the skin with rough particles in the exfoliation.

* Careful when choosing products. Be sure to choose alcohol free and fragrance free products. Test out products before using it!

5. Normal Skin
Congratulations and everyone hates you cause you happen to have the best skin type. Having normal skin type means your skin is basically perfect! It's the perfect mixture of oil, acid mantle and moisture. You are free from blemishes. Be glad you have it!

How do I know if I have Normal skin type?
- First of all, you do not breakout all the time.
- Your face is not super oily or super dry.
- Do not have enlarges pores or flaky skin.
- Perfect smooth texture.

What types of product should I use?
- You lucky! You get to use whatever type of cleanser that favors you. Water based cleanser is fine too~
- Light toner and lightest gel moisturizer only.
- Once a week exfoliate and use a mask pack to maintain your skin!

~

There you have it! Have you figure out what type of skin category you belong to? Make sure to choose the correct products according to your skin type. You wouldn't want to add more oily/heavy products to your already oily skin OR putting products that consist alcohol to your dry skin making it worst~

[Review] The Body Shop Tea Tree Face Mask.

Welcome back to my blog peeps.. This time, it's gonna be the review for everyone out there with acne/pimple problems, it's the Tea Tree mask from The Body Shop! Upon hearing great benefits of Tea Tree, I've decided to drop by Body Shop to get the Tea Tree Mask. Check out what I found out below~~

Benefits of Tea Tree:

- Antiseptic and Anti-Bacterial properties.
- Natural ingredient extracted from the Melaleuca Tea Tree.
- Ideal for acne-prone skin and other skin disorders such as eczema or redness.
-Able to treat the pimples without irritating the skin.

Tea Tree Face Mask

- Suitable for blemished skin
- Instantly cools and lifts away impurities.

Descriptions.

This instantly cooling face mask cleanses, soothes and refreshes the skin.

- Helps to remove impurities.
- Absorbs excess oil.
-Soothes skin.

It's ingredients can be seen as above picture. Organic Tea Tree oil from Kenya.

Mask.

- As you can see, the mask comes in a can in a clay form. It appears to be greenish in colour.

Texture.

-The texture of the mask appears to be soft and light yet watery therefore making it easy to apply unlike other mud/clay mask that are hard and difficult to apply.

- When applied, it does not dry out your face entirely like how usual mud/clay mask. You will not feel any discomfort if you happen to leave the mask on longer than the expected time.

Smell.

The scent of the mask appears to be minty and fresh of Tea which I find relaxing. Not everyone might find the smell pleasant but the smell does not linger around for long, it disappears after a while. It is still tolerable.

Suitable for:

- Oily Skin
- Acne Prone skin
- Pimples
- Combination Skin

Directions.

- Apply mask after your normal night routine in the direction of Cleansing - Toning - Mask - Wash off - Moisturize.

- Apply a generous amount onto face and neck by scooping it with a spatula then applying it onto your face with fingertips instead of poking your finger into the jar which might transfers bacterial into your mask which may contaminate the whole can.
- Leave mask on for 10-15 minutes, then wash it off with water, use a cleansing sponge or wet towel to help remove it.

- Upon first time using it, you might feel a tingling sensation on your skin from the cooling sensation of the mask.

If you are super sensitive, please do try on a small area to check for sensitivity. If pain or redness occur on skin, discontinue usage and rinse off immediately.

- If you do not want to use this mask on your whole face, you can apply a small amount on pimple/acne after applying your moisturizer and leave it on overnight. It helps to reduce the swelling, redness or even dries out an erupting pimple from what I have experienced.

Comments.

I have tried on this mask for a few months now and I love the cooling sensation when applied. I personally do not recommend the mask if you are looking for a product to treat acne but get the Tea Tree oil which contains a higher concentration which is also available from Body Shop.

If you are looking for a mask that refreshes your skin, this is the mask to purchase.

Ratings 8/10.

The product itself did a great job on drying out erupting pimples so its a thumbs up for me.

Will I purchase it again if I run out of the current one?
Yes only when it's under promotion.
