March Favorites! 2015

Hello everyone! Starting this month, at the end of very month I'll be posting up a list of my favorite things this month. It may be books, food, beauty products, facial products or any other things I love for the month! So let's check out what my March Favorites are!

So, this month my list of favorites are :

Nivea Body In-Shower Skin Conditioner.

I recently picked this up from Watsons due to the latest promotion going on. It's a body lotion that is applied in the shower, a little bit like a conditioner for your body, works the same way as hair conditioner, leaving it on your body for a few minutes then washing it off.

I usually forget to apply lotion when I get out of the shower during the day because I'm always rushing out to school then during the day my skin gets dry and sometimes it itches. Thanks to Nivea's in shower body lotion, it helps me save much more time and it clearly helps to moisturize my skin without having the need to apply body lotion again.

After a week of using this in shower skin conditioner, I can obviously feel the difference of my skin through out the day, my skin felt more moisturize and it doesn't itch as much.

Garnier Aqua Defense.

My second favorite of the month is Garnier's Aqua Defense Moisturizer. As you all know, I have pretty dry skin but after that my skin starts to turn oily. I was recently introduced by a friend to this moisturizer and it did help a lot.

I usually apply this when I go to bed, applying a thin layer goes a long way. It has a fresh minty scent to it and leaves a tingling sensation on your skin. It's been a while since I started using this product and it's been doing it's hydrating job on my skin. I feel less oily when I wake up in the morning. Thumbs up for this product.

Biore UV Aqua Rich Water Base Essence.

UV IS IMPORTANT FOR YOUR SKIN!!! I love love love love loveeeeeee this product the most out of all UV products I have tried in my whole 20 years of living! LOL! So this is a sunscreen from Biore and it is on SPF 50+ PA+++

The reason why I love this product is because of all the sunscreens I have tried, it left my skin sticky and oily throughout the day along with sweat in the hot weather, this product doesn't do that. It is a watery essence and it doesn't feel sticky at all. It's the same as applying water on your face. Massive love for this product. (Reviews will be up in the next blog post)

H&M Smoky Eyes hadow and Face Shop Catch My Eyeliner.

H&M Smoky Eye shadow palette have 5 different shades in a palette which a friend of my got me from the States as it is not available here. The last color comes in a shade of dark brown which could be use for daily outings to school, hanging out with friends or whatever you wanna do. It made it's way into my March Favorites because it is easy to carry around in your bag, you can turn from day out with friends with a simple color, to party night with smoky makeup with the other shades available.

Eyeliner from Face Shop also made it into my March favorites as it has a sponge at one end and the other end where your eyeliner is. You can use the sponge to smudge your liner if you're going for a softer look instead of a thick liner. It stays on for a long period of time too despite the weather I'm staying at. (Likes!)

These are the few of my findings this month and I fell in love with those products after a few times using it. If you want me to review the products that are mentioned above, just drop me a comment and I'll be sure to post it up~~ Stay tune for more post and come back at the end of April to check out my favorites next month~

[Review] The Body Shop Tea Tree Face Mask.

Welcome back to my blog peeps.. This time, it's gonna be the review for everyone out there with acne/pimple problems, it's the Tea Tree mask from The Body Shop! Upon hearing great benefits of Tea Tree, I've decided to drop by Body Shop to get the Tea Tree Mask. Check out what I found out below~~

Benefits of Tea Tree:

- Antiseptic and Anti-Bacterial properties.
- Natural ingredient extracted from the Melaleuca Tea Tree.
- Ideal for acne-prone skin and other skin disorders such as eczema or redness.
-Able to treat the pimples without irritating the skin.

Tea Tree Face Mask

- Suitable for blemished skin
- Instantly cools and lifts away impurities.

Descriptions.

This instantly cooling face mask cleanses, soothes and refreshes the skin.

- Helps to remove impurities.
- Absorbs excess oil.
-Soothes skin.

It's ingredients can be seen as above picture. Organic Tea Tree oil from Kenya.

Mask.

- As you can see, the mask comes in a can in a clay form. It appears to be greenish in colour.

Texture.

-The texture of the mask appears to be soft and light yet watery therefore making it easy to apply unlike other mud/clay mask that are hard and difficult to apply.

- When applied, it does not dry out your face entirely like how usual mud/clay mask. You will not feel any discomfort if you happen to leave the mask on longer than the expected time.

Smell.

The scent of the mask appears to be minty and fresh of Tea which I find relaxing. Not everyone might find the smell pleasant but the smell does not linger around for long, it disappears after a while. It is still tolerable.

Suitable for:

- Oily Skin
- Acne Prone skin
- Pimples
- Combination Skin

Directions.

- Apply mask after your normal night routine in the direction of Cleansing - Toning - Mask - Wash off - Moisturize.

- Apply a generous amount onto face and neck by scooping it with a spatula then applying it onto your face with fingertips instead of poking your finger into the jar which might transfers bacterial into your mask which may contaminate the whole can.
- Leave mask on for 10-15 minutes, then wash it off with water, use a cleansing sponge or wet towel to help remove it.

- Upon first time using it, you might feel a tingling sensation on your skin from the cooling sensation of the mask.

If you are super sensitive, please do try on a small area to check for sensitivity. If pain or redness occur on skin, discontinue usage and rinse off immediately.

- If you do not want to use this mask on your whole face, you can apply a small amount on pimple/acne after applying your moisturizer and leave it on overnight. It helps to reduce the swelling, redness or even dries out an erupting pimple from what I have experienced.

Comments.

I have tried on this mask for a few months now and I love the cooling sensation when applied. I personally do not recommend the mask if you are looking for a product to treat acne but get the Tea Tree oil which contains a higher concentration which is also available from Body Shop.

If you are looking for a mask that refreshes your skin, this is the mask to purchase.

Ratings 8/10.

The product itself did a great job on drying out erupting pimples so its a thumbs up for me.

[Review] Nature Republic's Soothing & Moisture Aloe Vera Gel.

Hello again fellow readers.

I'm back again and this time I'll be doing a review on Nature Republic's 92% Aloe Vera Gel and different ways to use it.

I happen to stumble upon this Aloe Vera gel from Nature Republic when I step foot into their shop at the Miri branch. I'm guessing it should Aloe Vera season because there are stacks and stacks of it pilling up in their shop.

Description.

- It contains 92% Aloe Vera leaf extract.

Soothing and Moisturizing
- It provides soothing and moisture effects to the sensitive skin.

Skin firming and moisturizing effect
- Fast absorbing gel that provides a refreshing feel to the skin.

Makes the skin healthy
- Keeps the surface of the face and body healthy.

- The vitamins from the Aloe Vera extract, such as Vitamins E, C and other minerals, keep the skin moisturized and protecting it from UV rays. The fresh Aloe Vera ingredient absorbs quickly into the skin without leaving any sticky residue behind.

The product itself is claimed to be 9 free nature formulas such as Paraben, Animal Ingredients, Benzophenone, Artificial Coloring, DiozaneChlorphenesin, Mineral Oil, Formaldehyde and Sulfate.

Enriched with 92% Aloe Very! Mild formula free paraben, mineral oil and artificial color. This soothing gel with 92% organic Aloe Vera was certified by California Certified Organic Farmers(CCOF) can be used to mildly moisturize various parts of the body often for best results.

As you can see, the Aloe Vera gel appears to be transparent.

Directions.

There are different ways to use this Aloe Vera gel such as on your body, hair and face.

Face.
- Go through your daily routine and use this Aloe Vera Gel as the last step.

-You can use it as a mask by leaving it on your face for 15-20 minutes in a generous amount then wash it off with  warm water.

- For moisturizer, just apply a small amount enough to cover the entire face after cleansing, toning and serum. It absorbs to your skin very quickly so you need not worry about sticky residue on your skin.

- Recommended to all dry skin and sensitive skin people.

Hair.

1. Use it as a shampoo for the extra boost of moisturizing ingredient. By adding the gel at a ratio of 2 gel : 1 shampoo. Mix it together and shampoo as usual.

2. Use it as a conditioner by adding the Aloe Vera gel to your conditioner or use the Aloe Vera gel alone by applying it to damp hair starting at the scalp and working downwards to the ends of your hair. Wrap your hair with disposable shower cap or a towel for at least 15 minutes. Wash it off after the treatment.
- OR use it as a leave on treatment after shower on damp hair.

Body.

- Apply it to dry parts of your body (arms & legs) for extra moisturizer.

Make up.

- For people with dry skin problems, not being able to search for the right BB Cream/Foundation to use, you can mix your BB Cream/Foundation together with this Aloe Vera Gel at a ratio of 1:1. It helps to keep your skin moisturize and it provides a glow to your skin creating the natural make up look.

Benefits of Aloe Vera.

- It helps to prevent acne from occurring as Aloe Vera has antibacterial properties that are very effective in treating acne and reducing the redness.

- Not just acne, Aloe Very helps to reduce acne scars by promoting skin regeneration.

- Provides great amount of moisture and hydration to dry and sensitive skin.

- It can also be applied to sun burned areas to provide soothing or if you accidentally burn your fingers or any part of your skin on a hot pan or hot water, apply it immediately.

Comments.

- I have personally used this Aloe Vera gel on my face for a few weeks now and I've notice my face have been more hydrated than in the past which can be clearly seen as my pores have minimized.

- It has a pleasant scent not too strong but it does linger around even after it absorbs into your skin.

- It is fairly easy to wash off and it absorbs very quickly without leaving behind a sticky residue.

Ratings 8/10.

The reason why I did not give it a better rating because of it's packaging. It comes in a can and there might be some hygienic problem occurring unless you use a spatula for hygienic purposes but due to its affordable price and great benefits I decided to increase it's rating.

*New Ratings 9/10

They happen to have a promotion going on when I was there. 4 can @ RM95 and 1 @RM39. I've heard great reviews on their aloe vera gel so I decided to get the promo package 4 cans @ RM95.

[Review] Annie's Way Snail Repairing Jelly Mask.

How many times do you apply on mask or truly pay attention to your skin?? No matter how busy we are, we have to find take care of our skin and find a way to keep our skin hydrated. After stressing for a long time due to studies, my skin starts to form tiny bumps or sometimes a giant acne popping out of nowhere if I neglect my skin. Recently I discovered Annie's Way Jelly Mask through BUBZBEAUTY, though her vlogs so I decided to grab it and try it for myself. So I grabbed Snail Repairing Jelly Mask

Annie's way Jelly Mask is made in Taiwan therefore pretty hard to find around Malaysia and Brunei so in order to get mine, I had to ship it in from Taiwan or made an order through a friend as she is the supplier for Annie's Way.

As you can see from the picture above, I personally got the Snail Repairing jelly mask, but Annie's Way ranged from a whole lot different type for different type of skin.

Annie's Way
1. Q10 Anti-Aging Jelly Mask -  Whitening, moisturizing, anti-aging, minimizes fine lines. Gives your skin a youthful, toned, luminous and flawlessly radiant look. Especially designed for aged and wrinkled skin.

2. Honey Deep Moisturizing Jelly Mask - Honey is a natural beauty ingredient that nourishes and deeply moisturizes your skin. Suitable for overly dry skin that needs intensive hydration.

3. Arbutin + Hyaluronic Acid Jelly Mask - Whitening, moisturizing, minimizes fine lines, leaves skin radiantly bright.

4. Snail Repairing Jelly Mask - Repair function, can nourish and provides long lasting moisture on your skin. Suitable for dry and normal skin.

5. Calendula Softening Jelly Mask - Calendula essence can effectively moisture, soften and reduce skin discomfort. Suitable for sensitive and dry skin.

6. Charcoal Black Jelly Mask - Effectively control oil, deep cleaning and whitens the skin. Suitable for over oily skin.

7. Aloe Anti-Acne Jelly Mask - Aloe is a recognized beauty skin enhancing ingredient. It revitalizes overdry skin, leaving your skin with a visibly healthy, youthful glow. Suitable for oily, acne prone skin. Can also be used after sun exposure.

8. Italy Red Wine Jelly Mask - Anti-aging, minimizes fine lines, whitens. Suitable for aged & dull complexion.

9. Lavender Relaxing Jelly Mask - Lavender smooth your skin, relieves your skin from stress and relaxes your skin. Suitable for all types of skin and for use before bedtime.

These are all the jelly mask series available from Annie's Way.

Let's move on to the Snail Repairing Mask that I have personally tried.
As you can see, the jelly appears in clear gel form for easy application along with a spatula given by Annie's Way.

Ingredients.

Dist water, Corbopol, Butylene Glycol, Hyaluronic Acid, Xeradin2
, POR (6o) Hydrogenated, Castor Oil, Soy Extract, Snail Secretion Extract, D-panthenol, Licorice Eco, Menthylisothiazolinone, Iodopropynyl Butycarbanate

Directions.

First, go through your daily routine. Cleanse your face with your facial foam, then apply on toner and serum as base for better effect of the mask. Use the designated spatula by Annie's Way or any spatula, scoop up a great amount and apply it onto your face with a thickness ranging from 0.3 to 0.5cm evenly.

After 30-45 mins, gently scrap the mask off using the spatula upwards. As you scrap it off, you might see blackheads coming off along with the mask as you wipe it off on a tissue/cloth. Wipe it off then rinse off with water. Apply moisturizer and continue off with your usual routine. Use twice a week or as needed.

After using this jelly mask for the first time, I see that my pores have minimized and it feels smoother and more moisturize. Continue using it for a few more times, you will be able to see the difference.

Ratings 9.5/10

Im loving this mask as I will be including this into my weekly routine and adding it into my new favourites among all the mask I have tried on. Yes, I will continue to purchase this mask when I run out of it. I believe it will run out after 7-8 applies as it requires a thick layer(as seen above on my hands) in order for the mask to be effective.

The mask comes in 250ml and I bought it for BND$42 per container. Available purchase through me for pre-order though email KimmyLoo1212@gmail.com or you can purchase it from Taiwan.

I would be doing a review on the other Annie's Way Jelly Mask series if I am able to get it. Stay Tune~~ xoxo

[Review] The Face Shop Rice Cleansing Water.

Hellow everybody!! Im back with another review after a short hiatus. So everyone knows how to put on make up but do you remove it properly or do you just wash your face and jump straight to bed? So I went shopping the other day and I happen to come across this makeup remover. Usually most makeup remover comes in either cream or oil, but for this, it is actually in water base which doesn't clog your pores or make you feel icky and oily. So let's get started~~

PACKAGING.
As you can see from the picture, it comes in a plastic tube along with a pump which is an A+ for me. Instead of poking your fingers into a container or placing your cotton onto the top of the container, a pump is more hygienic as you do not need to touch the tip of the pump.

TEST.
Moving on to how effective this makeup remover really is. I've prepared some experiments to test it on. Here on my hands I have blusher, foundation/bbcream, eyeliner, mascara, eyeshadow.

1 pump onto your cotton and gently rub the cotton over your face, lips or eyes although the instruction says not to use it on eyes but I can say it's safe for your eyes. Gently place the cotton pad on the eyelids and wipe outwards to prevent it from entering your eyes. In the bottom picture, you can see the results.

 Result from 1st wipe.

Result from 2nd wipe and you can obviously see the difference. I can say it did a pretty good job removing most of the make up. After wiping, it does not feel sticky or oily. With rice as part of its ingredients, it also help to provide you a brighter skin.

Ratings 8/10
I just wish it comes in a bigger bottle. This is at 145ml at $18.90. Available at all Faceshop outlet. This tend to sell out quicker than their rice cleansing cream and oil.
Yes, I will repurchase this again once I run out of makeup remover.

[REVIEW] The L'Oreal Paris Hydrafresh Anti-Shine All Day Hydrating & Matifying Icy Gel.

Hello everyone, I'm back with a new review I have been working on. It's the L'Oreal Paris Hydrafresh Anti Shine Icy Gel and it claims that it provides high hydration to the skin. Throughout the years I tend to have oily skin around my T zone area but one day I came across this product while I was doing some shopping around watsons (Malaysia). The words Matifying & Hydration caught my attention so I decided to give it a try.

Some things I need to clarify about my skin, I tend to get oily skin on my T zone area which is my forehead, nose and chin area after a few hours while my cheeks stays normal not too oily/dry. So, Im a combination type myself.

The L'Oreal Paris Hydrafresh Anti-Shine All Day Hydrating & Matifying Icy Gel.

Package
- As seen in above's picture, it comes in a jar at 50ml. I would actually prefer if it comes in a tube as for hygiene purposes. I usually uses a spatula to scoop it out instead of putting my fingers into the jar.

Texture

- It comes in a light blue creamy colour and the texture itself is not too heavy. As the package claims that it give you a icy sensation and it  is proven to be truly icy. When the product touches your skin, it gives a cool feeling. It is easy to apply on and it absorbs quickly. After applying, it gives your face a matte finish suitable for oily/combination skin.

Results

Your skin is mmediately cooled down, durably matifies and quenched for all day. Day after day skin gets rid of shininess and pores are clear and tightened. Skin is smooth and evened out. Full of moisture, it is “water-bouncy” and looks healthier like “water transparent.”

Application

I usually apply it around my Tzone area. I do not personally use this as a moisturizer all over my face as it tends to over dry other parts of my skin. After cleansing, toner and moisturizer, I apply EtudeHouse's BB Cream and after Im ready, I use this to pat it onto my Tzone area to provide a matte finish.

Mask

This doesn't have to limited to moisturizer only as it can also be used as a mask. Apply a generous amount all over your face and leave it for 15minutes and wash/wipe it off. Use it once a week and you can clearly see a difference.

Pros

- It is suitable for most people living in a tropical area just like myself in Brunei/Malaysia.
- It is easily available at Watsons, Guradian or any drugstore.
- It is 50g along with a great price approx of RM$30
- It provides a matte finish so your skin wont be oily.

Cons

- Apart from it's cooling sensation and matifying purposes, it does not improve your skin complex.
- Should have came in a tube/pump instead of  a jar.

Overall Rating of the Product 4/5

Price - 4/5
It was worth it as the product does what it claims to do and it comes in 50g which is a steal.

Packaging - 3/5
I don't like how it comes in a jar instead of a tube/pump

Hydrating/Matifying Power - 4/5
It does give your face a matte finish but it would only last you around 4-5 hours.

I will go back for this product again after I finish mine as it was worth it.
