Hey there beautiful people! It's been a while and now I'm back with a new post. It all about the Chia Seed I was talking about on my April Fave's post! Here's why I love Chia Seeds so much!
I was introduced to Chia Seeds by a friend so my mum got me this pack of Chia Seed from Malaysia Cosway. The seeds are from Mexico and Bolivia but it was packed in Malaysia. It has a shelf life of approx 2 years and it comes in a big package at 500g which can last you a long time.
The seeds comes from Salvia Hispanica plant and it contains high level of Omega-3 fatty acids and are rich in antioxidant. The fifer rich seeds contains nearly 7 grams of fiber every 25g intake. The seeds comes in 3 different colour, mostly black, white and brownish
Directions.
Take 1-2 tablespoons (10-20g) of Chia Seeds daily. You may consume it on its own, add it into your favourite beverage, into your cereal, yogurt, salad or into any other food.
Ways to prep Chia Seeds.
For this post, I grab a tablespoon of chia seed and added water to it, but usually, I put the seeds straight into my water, juice or whatever beverages I choose to have.
You may also add 1/3 cups of seeds to 2 cups of water and store it into your refrigerator up to one week. Take one or two spoonful and add it into whatever your choice is. It does not affect the taste of your food but it does increase its nutritional value.
After a few minutes the chai seed absorbs water and creates a gel like substance around it. The seeds can absorb up to 12x their size.
Benefits of Chia Seeds.
- Chia seeds are anti-oxidants. Anti oxidants fights the productions of free radicals, which can damage molecules in cells and contribute to ageing and diseases like cancer.
- Chia Seeds are also known to help lose weight. The fiber absorbs large amount of water and expands in the stomach which should increase fullness and slow the absorption of food. It helps to reduce your appetite and food intake.
- It is easy to incorporate into your diet. Just add the seeds into any beverages or food.
- Replace eggs with chia seeds that helps reduce the cholesterol. It helps to thicken sauce when its gel forms around the seeds.
- High level of Omega-3 which helps reduce inflammation, enhance cognitive performance and reduce high cholesterol.

It's tasteless but it smells like tea.

Thanks for sharing such a wonderful information about this amazing seed with multiple health benefits. It is also very good for the drinking during the hot weather as it keeps the body temperature low.
